RESUMO
Em agosto de 2019, foi iniciado o primeiro curso de Escrita de Sinais pelo método SignWriting no Instituto Tertúlias Libras – localizado na Cidade de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil. O Instituto Tertúlias Libras ofereceu um curso intensivo de Escrita de Sinais para surdos e ouvintes bilingues. O objetivo da iniciativa foi introduzir os conceitos básicos da escrita de sinais, sua importância e perspectivas futuras nos profissionais surdos e ouvintes participantes. A turma contou com 12 estudantes, sendo 3 surdos e 9 ouvintes. O curso iniciou na modalidade presencial separando os alunos surdos dos ouvintes para melhor aplicação metodológica, entretanto devido a pandemia causada pela COVID-19 migrou-se para a modalidade a distância e as aulas ministradas atenderam tanto os alunos surdos quanto os ouvintes. Nos anos seguintes 2020, 2021 e 2022 novas turmas foram criadas mesclando surdos e ouvintes bilingues. Com a criação do material didático do curso (apostilas e vídeos). Durante as aulas foram utilizados além do material interno da escola, materiais disponibilizados gratuitamente pelo site internacional do SignWriting: Apostilas e manual da escrita, Ebooks de histórias em Libras e imagens da literatura recorrente. Além disso, os alunos tiveram acesso a material disponibilizado no Youtube e publicações independentes de tirinhas e ilustrações que utilizam o SignWriting. Em 2023 iniciou um novo projeto, levando o ensino da escrita de sinais para além da Instituição. Criando um curso online e gratuito pelo Youtube onde não mais a distância física ou diferença social monetária fosse impeditivo para o aprendizado e compartilhamento do método Sutton, SignWriting. Neste artigo apresento como foi a criação, implementação e desenvolvimento das turmas juntamente com as mudanças de estratégias metodológicas e estratégias para clarificar ao público além da escola e expandir a escrita de sinais. Na esperança de que outros professores e pesquisadores possam utilizar estes dados para novas perspectivas, ideias e inspirações, melhorando e ampliando o ensino e divulgação da Escrita de Sinais no Brasil e no mundo. ABSTRACT
In August 2019, the first SignWriting course using the SignWriting method was launched at the Tertúlias Libras Institute – located in the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Tertúlias Libras Institute offered an intensive SignWriting course for bilingual deaf and hearing students. The objective of the initiative was to introduce the basic concepts of SignWriting, its importance and future perspectives to the participating deaf and hearing professionals. The class had 12 students, 3 deaf and 9 hearing. The course began in person, separating deaf and hearing students for better methodological application. However, due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, it migrated to distance learning and the classes taught served both deaf and hearing students. In the following years (2020, 2021 and 2022), new classes were created mixing bilingual deaf and hearing students. With the creation of the course's teaching material (handouts and videos). In addition to the school's internal material, classes used materials made available free of charge on the international SignWriting website: Handouts and writing manual, Ebooks of stories in Libras, and images of recurring literature. In addition, students had access to material made available on YouTube and independent publications of comic strips and illustrations that use SignWriting. In 2023, a new project began, taking the teaching of SignWriting beyond the institution. Creating a free online course on YouTube where physical distance or social or monetary differences would no longer be an impediment to learning and sharing the Sutton method, SignWriting. In this article, I present how the classes were created, implemented, and developed, along with the changes in methodological strategies and strategies to clarify the public beyond the school and expand sign writing. In the hope that other teachers and researchers can use this data for new perspectives, ideas, and inspirations, improving and expanding the teaching and dissemination of SignWriting in Brazil and around the world.
